June Lake Loop COVID-19 Status Updates:

Many June Lake Loop business and services are now Open, in accord with Federal, State and County guidelines.

Requirements for face coverings (updated July 29, 2020) remain in place for all indoor public spaces and where distancing cannot be maintained

December 6, 2020 - Mono County Health has released an Order clarifying the regional "Stay at Home" order as it relates to Lodging Facililites.  All existing reservations from Monday, December 7, 2020 are required to be cancelled and no reservations are allowed to be taken.  More details here

December 3. 2020 - Governor Newsom introduced a Regional Stay Home Order which goes into effect within 24 hours in regions with less than 15% ICU capacity and stays in effect for 3 weeks. Mono County went under the Regional Stay Home Order on Monday, December 7, 2020.
June 10, 2020 - The Inyo National Forest has granted permission to Inyo Recreation to OPEN the June Lake Loop's Public Campgrounds on Friday June 12.

June 5, 2020 - The California Department of Public Health released guidance for additional sectors of the economy permitted to reopen no sooner than Friday, June 12 in Stage 3 of California’s Resilience Roadmap.  More Info

May 29, 2020 - During Tuesday’s Board of Supervisors’ meeting, Acting County Administrator Bob Lawton agreed with an interpretation made by Inyo County that the reopening of private campgrounds and RV parks is not prohibited by current State orders, and that with the recent rescission of Mono County’s local orders, private campgrounds and RV parks may now reopen, subject to public health guidance. The Board agreed that reopening, with modifications, should occur effective Friday, May 29th.  More Info

May 22, 2020 -  The California Department of Fish and Wildlife has responded favorably to a request from Mono County, moving the expiration date of the Emergency Fishing Delay imposed on April 15, 2020 and set to expire on June 1, 2020.  This will allow the fishing season in Mono County to begin on May 22, 2020.  More Info

May 20, 2020 - Mono County has met the criteria set by the State of California to move into Expanded Stage 2 of the Resiliency Roadmap. The Governor's Stay-at-Home Order remains in effect throughout the state, and non-essential travel is still prohibited.  More Info

May 20, 2020 - Mono County Health Officer Dr. Tom Boo issued a new Recreational Travel and Lodging Order replacing his April 1, 2020 Amended Order Clarifying Governor’s “Stay-at-Home” Order as Related to Lodging Facilities. The purpose of the new order is to provide additional clarification regarding lodging facilities within the Town of Mammoth Lakes and to rescind clarifications previously provided within unincorporated Mono County.   More Info

May 19, 2020 - The Mono County Public Health Officer has issued Interim Guidelines for Businesses during the COVID-19 Pandemic.  Mono County is entering Phase 2 of the Resilience Roadmap. More info

May 1, 2020 – Effective immediately, face coverings are required to be worn by all individuals while in public spaces in Mono County to reduce the risk of spreading COVID-19.  Read the complete order here.

June Lake Community Food Assistance --

  • The June Lake Loop Chamber of Commerce is working to coordinate a grocery assistance program for those community members in need during this crisis.  Please fill out this form so that we can share information about resources available and to coordinate local food bank efforts.
Meals and Food Distribution Information -

Below is information from monocounty.ca.gov. There are several food assistance programs for residents in Mono County.

  • Mono County Social Services is offering meals on wheels to seniors 60+. Contact Social Service  Mammoth (760) 924-1770, Bridgeport (760) 932-5600, or Walker (530) 495-1262
  • Mammoth Lakes Tourism is setting up a free-of-charge drive-thru food bank in the Rudder's Romenade on Main Street (next to Black Velvet). The food bank hours are M,W,F, 10-12 and 3-5pm, starting on Monday, 03/23.
  • IMACA food distribution program will begin delivering two-weeks-worth of food, every two weeks, directly to resident’s curbside. Check out the schedule here. Those not already registered for food delivery can sign up at here or call 760-279-4350.
  • Vons grocery store is reserving two hours in the morning, Monday through Friday from 7-9am, for vulnerable shoppers, including senior citizens, pregnant women or those with compromised immune systems.
  • Salvation Army food pantries are located in Bishop, Mammoth and Lee Vining. In Bishop, call or stop by to pick up food Monday through Friday from 10-3pm at 621 W Line Street, 760-872-2124. Mammoth location at 220 Sierra Manor Road, pick up on Monday and Wednesday from 2-4pm. In Lee Vining call760-937-0809 to set up pick up, or delivery for vulnerable populations.
  • The CalFresh Program issues monthly electronic benefits that can be used to buy healthy, nutritious foods at many markets and food stores throughout Mono County. To apply, call Social Services 760-924- 1770 or apply on-line at C4Yourself
  • MUSD volunteer staff are serving grab and go lunches 12-1pm Monday through Friday at the MHS MPR and Crowley Lake Community Center for all kids 18 years old and younger.
  • Mammoth Christian Fellowship is offering free lunches to all (adults included) Monday- Friday 1:00pm at 549 Old Mammoth Road.
  • Mammoth Grocery Outlet is delivering food to “at-risk” community members through volunteers. You can call the store for more information 760-934-1510.
