June Lake Loop Chamber of Commerce -- Website News

Hello Chamber Members,

As you may know, the June Lake Loop Chamber of Commerce website has been undergoing another overhaul and update of its Content Management System.  The site is available at JuneLakeChamber.com, JuneLakeChamber.org, or JuneLakeLoop.org.

Your Member Web Page

As before, you can use your login name and password as a member of the site, enabling you to post and edit your own business's web page, which is accessible through the Community Directory.  You can layout your own page as you wish with pictures, videos, links to your own website, facebook page, online booking service, etc.   If you have forgotten your login name and password please let me know and I will send you a reminder, or you can retrieve it directly by clicking "log in" and using the forgotten password function on the site.  Once logged on, go to your directory page and click the "Edit" tab.  If you need help, or do not want to update your page yourself, email me and I will give you assistance.

Content

The Chamber site contains over 150 pages of information on June Lake, but there is still some information that is missing or inadequate.  Content contributions are welcomed, especially photos, including:  winter photos, pictures of people engaged in activities, photos of nearby attractions (Yosemite, Mono Lake, Bodie, Mammoth, etc).  Text and copy submissions would also be great!  Please contact me if you have anything to contribute to the site's content!

Event Calendar

Also new on the website is an upgraded Community Event Calendar.  As a chamber member you will also have the ability to post events to this calendar yourself.  If you are getting the word out about a local event and do not feel confident in posting it to the Calendar yourself, please submit the information via email so that it can be put on the Calendar.

Social Networking

With well over five hundred million accounts, Facebook is the clear leader when it comes to Social Media Networking.  The June Lake Loop Facebook Page  has been active for four years, and since last year linked to the Chamber website with a social plugin.  The Chamber's Website drives visitors to the Facebook Page and vice versa.  Currently there are 1,387 fans who "like" the page, with a potential reach of 384,882 "friends of fans."  The weekly reach for September 24 was 4.508.  Two examples of recent posts to the facebook page timeline include a link to the Sunset Magazine article which listed June Lake as one of the Top Five Fall Hikes, and another to the article on photography by Howard Weimer.  Those Facebook posts received a "Virality Rating" of 7.76% and 6.83%, respectively.  The median virality rate for Facebook posts is about 1.6%.

Also on the front page of the June Lake Chamber website is a widget from Trip Advisor, which displays good reviews from its members who have visited the June Lake Loop.  Clicking on the widget takes you to the Trip Advisor site, which will immediately link to online booking and reservation systems, including Booking,com which is used by many June Lake lodging establishments.  Trip Advisor is a leader in Social Media for travelers and vacationers.

JuneLakeLoop.org is Search Engine Optimized and acheives excellent results in searches on Google, Yahoo, and other search engines.

JuneLakeLoop.org is mobile-friendly and compatible with smartphone and cellphone browsers.
