Here are some bulletin items from the President's desk:

Monthly Meeting

Once again it is time for the regular business meeting of the June Lake Loop Chamber of Commerce, tomorrow Wednesday May 8, at 10:00 am, in the blue room of the June Lake Community Building.

We'll be discussing the upcoming season in the Eastern Sierra, including the High Sierra Triathlon Association's June Lake Triathlon, and the June Lake Loop Mountain Music Festival Association's event, both coming to the Loop in July.

Chamber Mixer

Plan to attend our Chamber Mixer party at the Heidelberg Inn at 5:30 pm on Wednesday May 15. Everyone is invited: you do not need to be a Chamber member. There will be western-style grub and live entertainment. Bring your own promotional materials to share: business cards, brochures, whatever.

June Lake Clean-Up Day

This year's annual Clean-Up event will be held on Saturday May 18, starting at 9:00 am. To volunteer for this event, meet at the Trout Town Joe parking lot. There will also be large bins provided for disposal of your own unwanted items at no charge (NO household garbage, please)! Those who volunteer to help clean up our town will be provided with a free lunch at the conclusion of the event.

Information Kiosk

The Information Kiosk at June Lake Junction will once again be open to greet visitors to our area. The kiosk is staffed on a volunteer basis. If you would like to help or contribute to this effort please contact our Kiosk chairman, Jerry Allendorf 760 648-1142 or jtallendorf@aol.com

Fall Festival

The Chamber's events committee is working on an Oktoberfest-style event this fall, featuring (what else?) beer. Justin and Sarah of June Lake Brewing are helping to organize this, and they have some great ideas so far. If you would like to help with events please contact our Events chairman Patrick Ferguson at patrulesall@gmail.com

Membership Drive

Since 1961 the June Lake Loop Chamber of Commerce has worked to help promote the civic and financial well-being of the June Lake area as well as the Mono Basin and the entire Eastern Sierra region. Our primary activities include advertising, internet and social media, sponsorships and local event promotions. Your ideas and insights on how we can continue and improve ourselves in the performance of this mission, are always welcomed. Moreover, we would like to invite you to consider becoming a Chamber member. The Chamber is a non-profit civic organization, and you do not need to own a business to become a member. In addition, membership at the individual level is quite affordable. We'll be distributing membership applications in the coming weeks. Thank you!

Tioga Pass is scheduled to open next week! Here's to a fantastic 2013 tourism season.
