June Lake Loop Chamber of Commerce

Dear Friends,
I continue to be honored with the privilege of presiding over your June Lake Loop Chamber of Commerce. Much has transpired since I accepted this position in the latter part of 2012. The time has come to ask for your support in the form of yearly membership dues. Your dues have been the primary source of the required funding for our programs, since the Chamber has not conducted any other significant fundraising activities in recent years. It is our intention to begin utilizing our event calendar as an opportunity to raise additional funds, but we will still need your support!
Attached to this email is an application form which may be used by you or anyone who would like to become a member.
The June Lake Loop Chamber of Commerce is organized as a non-profit corporation under the State of California. It is a civic organization for the promotion and benefit of the June Lake Loop area and the County of Mono. Any individual or organization interested in furthering our goals may apply: you do not need to own a business, or be within the June Lake Loop, to be a member. Memberships are offered at different levels, and affordable rates.
As a business member you enjoy promotional benefits and listings, including your own searchable and customizable page on our chamber website.
Individual members have the full rights of membership, but without the promotional benefits.
You may even become a non-voting associate, free of charge.
There are many opportunities to volunteer services to the Chamber of Commerce as well, and this is one of the most valuable things you can do to help. For example, we are always in need of people to staff our Visitor Center Kiosk: contact Jerry Allendorf to be placed on the schedule.
Last winter the Chamber assisted in the organization and operation of a number of special events. Funding was supplied by the Mono County Board of Supervisors via the County Tourism Department, at the request of June Lake CAC's “Revitalization” subcommittee, in the light of the impending closure of June Mountain. This winter the availability of such special emergency funding is questionable: however, we are still planning to perpetuate a schedule of events, including the Winter Festival, Triple Threat Race, and the Snowmobile weekend. We've also added an Autumn Festival to the calendar for October.
In the area of promotion, the Chamber has continued to be active throughout the Spring and Summer seasons, with our ongoing Internet and Social Media presence, as well as print advertising through the Mono County Visitor Guide (full page back cover ad), the Western Outdoor News Eastern Sierra Spring guide, the “Big Map” of the Eastern Sierra, published by Golden Gate Media Group, and the full inside front cover of the Inyo County Visitor Guide. We have also produced June Lake promotional stickers and t-shirts, which were first distributed at the Triathlon event where we participated as a full sponsor for 2013.
Many thanks are due to all the members and friends who have provided their time and effort during these past months to contribute to our success. Special mention is due to Patrick Ferguson for his diligent work as Chair of the Events Committee, Ralph Lockhart for organizing and carrying out the Oblivion preview event at Minaret Cinema, Karen O'Keefe for hosting our Spring Mixer at the Heidelberg and for the Town Clean-up day, Don Morton for leading our effort as sponsors of the June Lake Triathlon, Jessalyn McCoy for obtaining the necessary permitting to get our banners reinstated along Boulder Drive in the downtown village, and Jerry Allendorf for his ongoing leadership in staffing and providing services for our kiosk Visitor Center at the Junction,
Your support of the June Lake Loop Chamber of Commerce is highly appreciated.
With warm regards,
Dan Roberts
