Hi Chamber Members,

The 2013-14 Mono County Visitor Guide is in the making, and Alicia Vennos of Mono County Tourism Dept., has asked that the chamber provide our local input into how the June Lake section is composed.  Also, the Chamber will once again sponsor a full-page display ad on the back cover of the Mono County Visitor Guide.

(Please note that only members who have paid their current dues, will have their phone numbers displayed in the list of members on the back cover ad.  The editorial section inside the magazine, however, will include everyone.)

Scroll to the bottom of this message to see a copy of the email from Alicia.  As an attachment to this email is what she has sent to us for review.  If you have input or suggestions, she needs to have them by September 21.  Her email address is:  avennos@mono.ca.gov

As food for thought, I would urge you to click this link and read the following article by Joanne Steele, who is an expert in marketing small towns:

This summer the Chamber has funded advertising in the Inyo County Visitor Guide, the Western Outdoor News, The "Big Map" of the Eastern Sierra and Death Valley, and the Ziplocal High Sierra Telephone Directory.

For your information, and as further background, I am showing you those ads below:

Inyo County Visitor Guide (full inside front cover):

Western Outdoor News Ad (in the Eastern Sierra Spring Guide section):

the "Big Map" ad (full back cover display):

ZipLocal Telephone Directory (yellow pages full page ad):

Bumper Stickers:

Thanks for your assistance with this, and best regards to all.

Hi, Ralph and Dan.  Good speaking with you yesterday, Ralph.  Dan, hope all is well with you, too.

As I mentioned, we would appreciate the JLL Chamber's expert assistance in reviewing the June Lake section of the Visitor Guide as we start revisions for the 2014 edition… Please take a look at the attached and let me know if you have changes to the editorial content.  (Just noticed that the second page of the attachment is actually Lee Vining's listings, so you can ignore that page!).   Also, please check the Business Listings carefully and send me any updates there.  Unfortunately we do not have the time to check the listings against all the chamber websites so definitely need you to identify any changes to the current list.

Finally, IF we can create/afford more space in the guide, (no promises, as it depends on advertising revenue), what info would you like to see included either in the June Lake section, or as a special section elsewhere in the guide?  We will be adding the Re-opening of June Mountain, of course.   Anything else you would like us to focus on if space permits?

Also -- please let us know if you would still like to have the same placement for your full-page Chamber ad this year.  Cost remains the same as last year if we get commitment and payment by November 1.  Thank you all so much for your continued support!

It would be much appreciated if we could get your input by September 21.  Thanks, as always, for your help and insights!
