Connie- Thank you AMANDA for delivering PPE!

6. Committee Reports:
Marketing - Full budget discussion under new business. Amanda Janet and Jamie attended a meeting for a new marketing campaign for the Loop. Next week another round of revisions is coming through. They are working on a map with points of interest around the loop. In the weeks to come, we’ll get a doc with the points of interest listed. Same messaging and plan of attack for now on social, sharing breaking news, etc. Sarah suggested to reach out to Mono county since they recently created a comprehensive list of businesses. Jamie and Jeff have been collaborating. Ralph mentioned that there have been detailed topo maps created and there is also the illustrated Johnny Adams Map.
Membership - Continuing to do the same work. We want to let everyone know that they are a member. The folks that responded to the initial survey need a little help on how to create their pages on the current Chamber website. Dan can assist.
Events
Leaves in the Loop - October, Tabled
Fishing Summit - Tabled, still unaware of plans for a socially distant event.
Other - Lots of new ideas filtering through for 2021, there is a doc in our shared resources on google drive titled Chamber 2020 Planning Calendar and 2021 Events Planning.
7. Old Business:
Food Bank Update - Seeing and talking to more folks that would rather be anonymous to participate. No new sign ups. Some don’t need services anymore. Cal-Fresh is a social services program that people can sign up for as well. As we continue to talk to businesses about being Chamber members, we are taking the time to make sure they know about the resources available to them. Doing the best to take care of those in need.
COVID-19 Update - Campgrounds are opening Friday morning, the state is supporting this move. There is a BOS meeting Friday am to talk more about campgrounds and lodging. They are requesting a variance for stage three, following a Tahoe community move. There is a new positive COVID case today, now at 35 in Mono County. Mono County Emergency Operations Committee (EOC) - Working on how business can spend PPP money as well as hiring employees back.
June Lake CARES update- Available though the June Lake Loop Women’s Club Contact: Abigail Ross 760-914-0437, Jodie Aas 760-914-1400, Ellen Obenberger 760-209-3016 or Sergio Santillan (Spanish speaking) 760-648-3342 to request assistance. To donate, checks can be mailed to the June Lake Loop Women's Club at PO Box 281, June Lake, CA 93529. Please put June Lake Cares in the memo line.
Website Discussion - We reviewed the visitjunelakeloop.com decision to not purchase the site at this time. Discussion of needs related to rebranding efforts. Sarah and her partner who helped create the site will continue to keep it up to date. We currently have over 20,000 followers on Facebook and about 7,000 on Instagram. Connie offered to help as well as Ralph, Janet and Alisa for a new website. Alisa has used Wix to build four different websites. It’s simple, cost effective, SEO is already a part of it, and integration with other apps is easy.
8. New Business:
New committees recruitment - beautification, economic recovery, etc. Folks (new Chamber members) want to participate with what we’re working on. Abi is happy to help.
2020 Budget Review and Revisions - Adjusted the banner cost, web hosting cost, added fishing opener trophies, targeting ads for additional cost for businesses. Abi to help create a social media scheduling calendar. Flower barrels could be purchased and be here as early as Friday. Abi motioned to use $4,000 for banners and planters, Amanda seconded, motion. The Internet was lost and the meeting was dropped. Voting has not been completed.
9. Items from the Floor: We had a few non board members join and had some questions.
Q: Is it possible to provide clarification on federal campgrounds?
They are preparing to open. Contact the forest service area that you want to visit directly. Seasonal workers were just brought in and need to quarantine for 14 days before opening. That’s causing a delay as well opening procedures. You can still do dispersed camping. Sounds like most of Inyo National Forest areas could open as early as June 20 or sooner.
Q: Will hotels be open on June 1st?
Currently that has not been approved. We’re hoping the governor will allow us to go to stage three sooner, rather than later, to include lodging. What the county is most concerned about is tourism traffic. Are we safe everywhere else as well as opening lodging. We have to follow the road map laid out by the state to get to stage three, just not there yet.
Meeting adjourned: loss of internet @8PM ended the meeting abruptly.
Next Meeting is June 17, 2020
