June Lake Loop Chamber Of Commerce
Executive Meeting
July 18, 2018
Call to Order at 11:06am
In attendance:
Directors --Jessalyn McCoy, Luis Curiel, Abigail Ross, Dan Roberts, Ralph Lockhart.
Others --Rick McCoy, Lindsey Chargin, Laura Newland, Jamie Schectman.
Approval of Minutes: Abigail made a motion to approve the May minutes, Dan seconded. Motion passed.
Financial Report: Paid $600 to the IRS, $2,200 to the Inyo County Visitors Guide, $500 is due for Liability Insurance. Abigail made a motion to approve the Financial Report, Dan seconded. Motion passed.
Membership: A full list of current members is available online. For those who have paid in June, their dues will continue through the following year as paid. Dues for the coming year are due as of July 1. Dan will send out invoices.
Jessalyn will reach out to The Lift to see if they are interested in joining.
With new members joining the chamber and spots needing to be filled, Jessalyn appointed Lindsey Chargin and Janet Hunt as directors on the executive committee. Additional appointments are possible in the future.
Events: The Chamber received a thank you letter from Alana Gillmore and the June Lake Triathlon. Party on the Mountain at June Mountain was a success as well as the June Lake Triathlon, Ralph reported that the vibe at the Triathlon was amazing.
The June Lake Loop Mountain Music Festival is coming up in the last weekend of July. Fireman’s BBQ is also right around the corner. Abigail made a motion to donate two $100 cash prizes to the raffle at the BBQ. Laura seconded, motion approved. Dan will handle getting the prizes to the Fire Department.
Advertising: The Inyo Visitors guide is being published with our ad on the inside front cover.
Monument Sign: Rick is still working on a light fixture for the northbound 395 June Lake sign. Van Gould is working on a quote for painting the southbound 395 sign.
Internet: Dan receives many inquiries through the website and google voice line. Thank you to Dan for responding to all of them.
Items from the Floor: It was brought up to go to the county and acquire a list of licensed businesses to see if we could possibly solicit additional chamber members.
Jamie would take the lead on a survey for current (and prospective) members on how we can better serve our community.
Dan made a motion to draft a letter to the Board of Supervisors to express our concern on the possible reduced spending on fish restocking. Lindsey seconded, motion passed. Abi will mock up a letter and will send to current members for feedback.
Ralph commented on about So. Cal Edison and their dam modifications. He expressed concern on how the flow is currently being managed and why it should change so that properties down canyon could avoid flooding.
