Top activities in the winter are skiing, snowshoeing and snowboarding, ice climbing, cross country treks, snowmobiling, and shopping in the June Lake Loop or enjoying a spa day. Sometimes the lakes can even be frozen and safe for ice skating.
June Mountain Ski and Snowboard Resort is the chief winter attraction, and spans a vertical rise of 2,590 feet with over 500 acres of runs. Six chairlifts, two of them high-speed quads, and a beginner surface lift serve a variety of terrain for all abilities. June is known for its unparalleled views along long tree-lined runs of gentle pitch, as well as challenging chutes and steeps for the experts, and a frequent abundance of powder snow. From the lifts you can view the entire June Lake community and two of its four lakes as well as Mono Lake and hundreds of square miles of some of the world's most spectacular landscape. June Mountain is known for its friendly atmosphere, where you feel like one of the family,
