Profile Information:  Please assure that your Name, Address, Phone, Email, etc. are correct. Use the "Edit" tab to change or correct your information. This is also where you can change your password.

Business Training:  Your Chamber of Commerce has partnered with Coggno, a leading online training provider, to offer courses in many areas such as Customer Service, Office Skills, Safety, Management Techniques, and much more.  Some of these courses are free of charge.


The Post Window:
Whenever you post or edit on this site, you will automatically be using the ckeditor window.  This editor looks much like a word processor, and allows you to format your post however you like.  There's a number icons on the toolbar, and you can discover what each icon does by hovering the cursor over it.  Most of these functions are self-explanatory.  There are, however, a few important functions which deserve explanation:

Inserting Images:  Place your cursor on your composition where you wish to insert an image, then click the "Image" icon on the toolbar. The image dialog will appear.  Choose "Browse Server" to open the File Browser.
The File Browser:  There is a folder shown on the left which is your personal folder for storage on the server.  A list of your images and files is shown on the right.  choose an image  and a preview will display below the list.  Use "Upload' on the menubar to upload additional images into the folder, that you may wish to use in your postings.  You can also resize your images using the "Resize" menu option.  When you want to place an image in your post, choose "Insert" from the menubar and then click "OK" on the image dialog.  Voila!
Creating Links:  You can add a link any text or image area.  First, use your cursor to select the area you wish to link..  Then, click the "Link" icon.  Enter the url that you wish to link to.  If you want the link to come up in a separate window or as a pop-up, use the "target' tab to specify this option.  Then click OK.
Attachments: If you want to attach your own document, such as a pdf file, use the "Link" icon and then choose 'Browse Server'.  Upload your file into the file browser and then Insert it as a link.


Calendar Events

You can create an event here.  Set the starting and ending times, or use the checkbox to set only the start time if you prefer.  Then make a posting of all of the other pertinent facts.  Include pictures and links to make a complete and detailed post.  This will be a separate, complete web page that can be searched by Google and other search engines.  After you save the page, a shortened version will be automatically created and displayed on the Event Calendar listing.  This shortened version is called a 'teaser' or 'summary,' and will be followed by a 'Read More' link.  Go to the Upcoming Events page and see how the teaser looks.  If you are not satisfied with the appearance in the Upcoming Events page, there are two ways you can manually control the appearance of the teaser:

  1. Use the 'Insert Teaser Break' icon in the editor toolbar to control exactly where the "teaser" breaks off from the rest of the page,  or
  2. Use the '(Edit Summary)' link above the toolbar.  A new editor window will appear where you can make a custom teaser, separate from the main page.

Member Posts

When you post a member page, all other Chamber Members will be automatically notified via email, so use the Preview button to check your page for correctness before you submit it.  Member Pages can only be viewed by other Chamber of Commerce Members, and a Comment Section is available below the post.


Your Business Listing

Each Business Member is included in the Business Directory Section.  To update your business information as displayed to the public, go to your business details page and use the "Edit" tab.

Body:  In the editor window.  You can enter the details of your business listing.  Change or update it at any time.  You can include pictures, logos and links (such as a link to your own website, or your booking site if you are a lodging business, or a link to you menu if you are an eatery, etc.).
Image for Listing:  The image uploaded here appears in the categorized directory listing.  When you upload an image here it is automatically re-sized to fit the listing format.
Business Type:  These checkboxes are for determining the category under which your listing will appear in the categorized lists.  You can choose more than one category, based upon your business activity.

Listing Summary:  Four lines of text that briefly describe your business on the categorized list so that visitors will click to obtain more details.

Map:  This is an HTML embed code to show a map at the bottom of your business listing page.  It normally does not need to be changed.


Mass Contact

You can compose an email that will be sent to all Chamber Members, or to the Board of Directors.  You can include images, attachments, etc. as in any other page content.


 

 

 


 

 

 

After completion, review your page  for errors and  proper formatting.

You should also test your links to make sure they work correctly.    (It is sometimes possible to inadvertently overwrite or exceed the window size).

 You may also want to check how the page looks on your mobile device.
